Kelly and I wish we could sit down with you face to face to thank you for your friendship and partnership with the first work begun here in the Dominican Republic, New Life Baptist.  We are grateful for you and want to share a 'bit' of what is going on this summer.  It has been and will continue to be very busy through August, but we have had some TREMENDOUS help from several churches back in the states!
  What's been going on:
Since our last letter we have seen several souls saved; started new discipleship classes; finished a Sunday School training class; hosted 2 groups, one from N.C. and one from GA; as well as celebrated our 6th anniversary on June 1st.  Our youth leader, Edwin and his fiancee, Milly have both started a Bible Study for our Men and Women respectively on Wednesday nights.  We are so thankful to our Lord that there is 'Life' here as we are fulfilling His Great Commission!
  Upcoming Summer Events:
Vacation Bible School will be held July 9-11 this year.  Our theme is "Home Run", and we are thrilled at seeing all the volunteer helpers, and pray for the souls and hearts of each child whom participate.  The following week, July 14-17th, we will be hosting Missionary Shannon Hampton for the 6th time, as he teaches another intensive Bible course on "Church History".  August 6-8 will be our annual Youth Retreat up in the mountains in which we have invited 3 other wonderful churches to be a part.  Please pray for these upcoming events.  We hope to have an update in our next letter of what God as done!
Project Exodus 25:8 - Phase II
Last week we officially launched Phase II of Project Exodus 25:8 before the church.  The service was God filled, and as one lady put it, "You would have thought at the invitation that Pastor said, 'everyone come up here to the alter',  by the way everyone responded."  Needless to say, we are excited but in need!  We have expanded our limits in our current building as far as knocking down walls, therefore Phase II includes:  Resetting our current building with steel beams in order to knock down and clear out the interior for the worship service (double our occupancy limit), purchase the house directly behind our church to be used exclusively for S.S. classes, and change the facade of our current building which sits on the main highway to look more like a church.  Our people are ready and we are praying for their hearts, and asking the Lord for this great need to be fulfilled.
We are so grateful for each one of you and your love and commitment to the Lord.  He is so good to us.  Isaiah 65:24 reminds us that even before we call on Him, He is already working on our behalf!"  Be blessed in knowing how much He watches and knows us!

Expanding HIS kingdom,
John Webb
