Páscoa - Easter
Easter, Resurrection Sunday, or “Hallelujah! He ain’t dead. He’s alive!” Sunday, or whatever you want to call it, is the reason we are moving, Lord willing, in August. Did you catch that we are moving because of a holiday? The Holiday of all holidays. We are moving because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As the Apostle Paul puts it in I Cor 15:14, “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” We are moving to Portugal to preach Christ’s resurrection. We are going to proclaim that Jesus died for our sins, but more importantly that HE IS ALIVE! This is what gives us hope and purpose in our ministry to the Portuguese people. This is also what should give us hope in giving to missions throughout the world and in sharing the gospel with those around us.
We are so thankful for Hillcrest Baptist Church of Richmond, IN and the many other partnerships this year. Through your sacrificial giving we are at 85% support! We even had an individual contribute to our first year of language school. Of course, if you follow us on facebook, you already know much of this.
Please pray for the remaining 15% of our support to come in by the end of May. Why May? So we can purchase our plane tickets and begin the next step in getting our Visas (once our passports have been stamped with the Visas we have 120 days to get into the country).
A list of things still needed before we leave:
- 6 church partners at $150/mo
- 6 airline tickets at $900 = $5,400
- 6 visas at $200 = $1,200
- 1 vehicle at $13,000 (tariffs inflate the cost)
- 1 moving container at $7,000
