A Message of Hope
It has been quite a month, and we are pretty sure it has been the same for you all. So many things are changing, so very quickly; but we know God is in control and has a plan for us and for you. We are excited to share with you all that has happened this month in our lives and ministry.
As we mentioned in our last letter, we have lost all our meetings up to July and a few of those churches have given us notice that they may be canceled as well. Because of this, we are sitting tight, waiting on word from the government as to whether churches will open again soon or not. Until then, we are continuing to try and gain more meetings, but churches are, understandably, reluctant to make new meetings.
While we are here, waiting, we have continued to minister in Peru from afar. Because most Peruvians work day-to-day to feed their families, many are struggling to buy food. Working through the pastor of our church Refugio, we have begun raising funds to purchase food and needed medicine for the people of our village and the surrounding areas, while also sharing the gospel with them. So far God’s people have donated close to a thousand dollars towards the cause. If you would like to participate in giving to those in need, please contact us and let us know.
Peru continues to be on lock-down, and from what we are hearing, it will continue to be on lock-down through the rest of the year. Because of this, it looks like we will not be allowed to return this year. We are heartbroken that we cannot return on our projected date; but with the missed meetings, our support raising has also taken such a hit that we would not be able to raise the needed support by then either, so this gives us extra time to raise our needed support. Please continue to pray with us that God opens the doors to allow us to return soon.
Also continue to pray with us about a few other things. We are still in need of housing. This has become quite an issue for all missionaries these days, but once the shelter at home order ends, we do not have a place to stay. Also continue to pray for our health. Without insurance and having preexisting conditions, it has been hard trying to see a doctor. Please pray the Lord works out a way for us to get insurance that will ease the burden of our medical bills.
It does seem like a lot, but we rest in Him to get us through. We know in these uncertain times fear can often overcome us. We encourage you to join us in finding ways to serve and share His message to all those struggling. We have the message of hope in a time of despair.
Please feel free to contact us via email or through our Facebook page or our newest addition, Instagram. Most importantly, we are thankful for your support. We cannot do what God has asked us to do without you. Thank you!!
