Another Year Gone & Another Year Come
Another year gone, and another year come; with it, more opportunities to serve God. Looking back on our year, there was so much that God allowed us to see, experience, and learn. He brought us through some hard times and lead us to some of our greatest triumphs for Him. We are excited to see what He has for us in 2020.
We celebrated the holidays with Teresa’s family in New York, allowing the kids to experience snow for the first time. Isa was able to go see a live performance of The Nutcracker, the kids got to chop down their own Christmas tree, and we all got to participate in many family events. All-in-all, our first Christmas back was a wonderful time with family.
We had meetings while here, but it was a challenge to get to them. With temperatures dropping to freezing levels and may inches of snow, each visit was interesting to get to. Unfortunately, we had a few cancel due to the weather, and the kids had to miss a few since they have been sick pretty much the entire month.
On a bright note, we are happy to hear our church plant in Peru is doing well. They just had their Christmas celebration and it looks like it was a success. Our associate pastor will be getting married in a few weeks, so we will have another woman in the church to help the women and youth. Keep praying for Iglesia Bautista Refugio for they still have many challenges ahead of them as a young church.
Our health has been the major set back for us this month. Isa’s eye is fine (Praise God!) but she and Ezra have both been sick from the moment we reached the North. Ezra had to have breathing treatments and an inhaler while Isa needed her own medication. They are finally on the mend, but they both still have a cough. Patrick also severely cut his hand just before Christmas. We rushed him to an urgent care where they cleaned him up, tested his hand’s strength, gave him eight stitches, and a large bill. He, thankfully, missed all his tendons and nerves, but it has been a rough healing process. Please pray it all heals up nicely, the kids get over their sickness, and that everyone is in good health for new year.
Our next step is to head back to Georgia to finish up Patrick’s dental work and then head down to Florida for more meetings. With the turn of the new year, we are now on a mission to raise our support and return to Peru. Please pray for safe travels, quick support raising, and a good health. Please feel free to contact us via email or through our Facebook page at “Pruetts in Peru” or our newest addition, Instagram. We have lots of photos there to see. Most importantly, we are thankful for your support. We can not do what God has asked us to do without you. Thank you!!
