Sharing the Gospel around the Globe.

Do you [REALLY] trust in me?

Each year, our church chooses a new theme, and this years' theme is
We chose this theme from Psalms 78:6-7 that says: "That the generation to come might know them...that they might set their hope in God..."
We've read the news, understood all the statistics for this year and everything points to a really rough and difficult year in Venezuela. So many things have gone through our heads as we've viewed the reality here. Yet God has blessed us with an amazing sense of peace from HIM over our family. And as the new year has started, we've really set our eyes on trusting and hoping in the Lord.

Little did we know that our Hope in the Lord was about to be tested.
Soon after this picture was taken, Lucy was diagnosed with cancer. As you know, cancer (in anyone's book) is a hard word to swallow. It took us a few days to actually come to grips with the concept that my wife had cancer. No... not someone else's wife, but my boys' everything.
A few nights ago, our whole family sat down in our family den and simply broke down in tears. Each one of our boys opened their hearts and expressed their fears and concerns. There was not a dry eye in the room. Yet as we each took turns expressing what we felt, it was so amazing to sense the peace and the presence of the Lord in that little room. We all prayed over mom and asked the Lord to heal her if it was HIS will. But we also prayed that God would give us the strength to truly put our hope in HIM. And we are learning to do so.

In the next week or two, Lucy will be going into surgery. We've been told the best way to remove thyroid cancer is to completely remove the thyroid. God has blessed us with a doctor that was trained in New York and has the finest team in the country which does around 150-200 thyroid cancer removal surgeries a year.
He's the one everyone goes to in the whole country, and he lives here in our city. God is so good!
Our insurance will only cover so much of the operation and we are needing to raise *$6,000 to complete the payment in order for them to proceed with Lucy's surgery. We would ask you to pray for Lucy, her surgical team and that God would help us raise the remaining funds. Even though this was unexpected, we know that GOD will supply all our needs according to HIS riches in glory.

* The initial $6,000 for the surgery has been generously given by donors. Praise God! If you'd like to contribute to the ongoing medical needs that Lucy will face, please designate your gift for "medical needs."

47 New Students This Year

Our Bible Instute's first year has started off incredibly! With more students than we predicted, God has allowed us to begin the training of our next generation of leaders and servants that will reach this nation and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are so excited to see what God is doing in our church, in our community, and in our lives.

In April, God will have allowed us to have been back on the field for 4 years.  I am currently in the process of getting some paper work done so that if we do go back to the States for furlough, we will have no problem in returning to Venezuela. Pray everything works out well.

We will keep you posted on our specific plans after Lucy's surgery and once the paperwork is complete.

As you pray for us, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Men's Camp in April
  • Ladies' Camp in August
  • Teen Camp in September
  • Construction on the church property
  • Lucy's surgery in 2 weeks

Thank you for your prayers, your love, and your support. We hope and pray for y'all each week so that God will continue to bless you and use you for His glory.
