Exciting News from Panama

suddeth 2018 blog image

By the time you receive this newsletter we should have arrived in the United States. We will miss our friends, our ministry, and our lives here in Panamá over the next three months, but we are very excited to share in person with as many as possible about the ministry here. We hope to be an encouragement, and we are sure we will be encouraged.

We have some exciting news to share with you. The Lord has led us to start a church in Costa Verde, which is the community in which we live. The needs and opportunities are tremendous. We are thankful to have a core group of 11 believers committed to this church plant. You will hear more details in the months to come. However, just a few highlights:

  • Nelson Rivera, who is Panamanian and, more importantly, a mature believer called to pastor, will pastor the church with me.
  • We have found a space to rent on Sundays from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
  • We desire to reach many people with the gospel, disciple them, and prepare men through biblical education and practical ministry experience to go and start more biblical, spiritually healthy churches.

For now, please be praying with us. We are excited and nervous at the same time. There is much to do, and we want to do things God’s way for God’s glory! Once again, we will be sharing more in the coming months. Thank you for your prayers!

Nelson and his wife Carolina. They are a wonderful, godly young couple.

This is Costa Verde. It is currently 30% developed and is rapidly growing. There is no church of any type, so the needs and opportunities abound.

This is the space we will be renting beginning in February 2020. The name of the church is Iglesia Bautista de Costa Verde (Costa Verde Baptist Church).
