Iglesia Bautista Hay Vida en Jesus
Hola a todos! I hope this past month has gone well for you. I thank the Lord for your faithfulness in prayer and partnership over the past month. I'm excited to share all that's been going on!
I was blessed in mid-September with the opportunity to work along side a missions team from Mile Straight Baptist Church. They were able to install windows, doors, ceiling fans, and paint the entire interior of the church. I praise God for them and for their willingness to take time out of their summer to serve the local church here in Espave. This town is known for making coal and a lot of soot floats around in the air. The church had no doors or window coverings to keep it out. After the work was done, it was amazing to see such joy from the members of the church. They are thrilled to have a clean place to worship the Lord together.
This past week, we were able to complete our first full book study in small group. I thank God for His faithfulness in this study and for the many things He has taught us. The group is excited to continue on to our next study which will start in November :). While the picture to the right might not be the best, this is a photo that means a lot to me. It is a picture of answered prayer. All those shoes belong to young adults that I am able to invite into my home and pour into their lives. Only some of those shoes show up for small groups, but we recently have started praying for the rest to have a heart to know God's word. Please pray with us that our small group will grow to a point that we can start another one!
It felt so far out, but not anymore! This coming Monday I leave for Indonesia. I will be on the island of Kupang serving at House of Hope for 3 and a half weeks. This will be my third visit, but my first time going by myself. I covet your prayers, as the trip is a long one. I desire to glorify God during my time there. I will be working with the English teachers at the Christian school. I will also be holding conversation classes with the kids along with other activities to invest in their lives. Many of them come from difficult backgrounds. Please pray with me that I can speak truth, comfort, and peace into their hearts. There is a language barrier, but I'm confident that God will make a way for His Gospel to be made known.
Looking even a bit further into the future, I'm excited to share about a missions trip to Guatemala. Journey Church International, a church from my hometown and fellow partner in ministry has an ongoing ministry in Guatemala with local partners. They send missions teams to do a variety of community outreach, and I was thrilled to receive an invitation to support them as a translator for their November trip. I look forward to getting to know JCI more and to serving with them in this beautiful ministry.
-For those in small group and future attendees
-For safety, strength, and wisdom during my travels
-For the House of Hope ministry
-For me to have boldness in each opportunity God presents to share the Gospel
As always I want to thank you for making what I do possible. I look forward to sharing with you all that God does in the next few weeks to come!
"Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel."
