Ministry Update from Panama
In our last update we mentioned that the number of COVID cases in Panamá was rising once again. Well, that is still true. In fact, the government has implemented a quarantine on Sundays for many parts of the country, and our area is one of those affected. As a result of these restrictions, we are currently having our worship services on Saturday evening. We are praying the government will lift the Sunday quarantine soon. There are many people who are not able to attend on Saturdays due to a variety of reasons.
We praise the Lord that a good friend, Benjamín, professed faith in Jesus as His Savior and Lord on June 25! We have known him for about four years and have shared the gospel with him in the past. However, on this particular day, he understood his need for Jesus as his Savior. Please pray for Benjamín’s spiritual growth. He is a supervisor for a security agency and works 12 hours a day, seven days a week. In fact, the day we met with him for lunch was his first day off of work in over six months. He hopes to have every other Friday off of work; if that is the case, we will try to meet with him every chance we have. Also, he said he would try to attend a worship service between stops on his regular route of checking in with different security guards. We’re praying he will be able to do that.
On the same day Benjamín professed faith in Jesus, Jeremy, a six-year-old boy in our church, was bitten on the face by a dog. He was taken to the children’s hospital in Panamá City, where he had surgery that afternoon. He was released from the hospital the following Thursday and is now at home recovering well. He has follow-up appointments with different doctors on July 12 and July 19. Please pray for Jeremy (pictured on far right) and his parents as he continues to recuperate.
Nelson (who pastors Iglesia Bautista de Costa Verde with Clip) and his wife, Carolina, welcomed the birth of their daughter, Karina, on June 8. Both Carolina and Karina are doing well. As you can imagine, Nelson and Carolina are very happy, excited, and thankful, but they are also very tired.
Thank you for your prayers and faithful partnership!

Right: Erick gave this elderly lady a messenger (an audio Bible). This lady is a believer but is unable to read. Erick said she was vry happy to be able to listen to God's Word! As a reminder, Erick is a good friend who is now serving with his family in the province of Los Santos. They are trying to revitalize a church in the town of La Villa de los Santos.
