The family is getting very excited...

We are wrapping up lots of loose ends and getting packed. We will begin our journey to the USA for a furlough on Tuesday. We ask for your prayers as we will be making a nearly three day trip until we arrive in Chattanooga, TN, where we will be for a few months.

We are grateful for what has been happening here in the ministry. God is good. God is faithful. God is still at work! And we thank you all for the part you have in the ministry here.

Back in June we held our annual couples dinner. We had a 60s theme this year. It was a blast! All of these couples were challenged to allow God to have center stage in their marriage relationships and honor Him with this special union.

Our Easter service was made more special with presentations from the children. They're always a delight to watch. But it was even more special to see them portray and sing about the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior!

Mother's Day was nice as we spent the day at the river with a special service and a "churrasco" (Brazilian bbq). Each mother received a homemade jelly. We worshiped the Lord together in music and were challenged to be influencers of the next generation with our faith in the Lord. We had some unchurched visiting mothers which was a great way to present the Gospel on this special day.

Josh had the opportunity to participate in another module that teaches expository preaching to pastors. Learning and growing is so important and developing the gifts we have been given is a blessing. It is always a great time of learning and encouragement for all of the pastors who attend.

Daniel Aug 19 5We enjoy having the preteens over for fun and Bible study. We had them over recently for a bonfire where we roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. They were taught about the importance of being content with God's provision in their lives.

I love the smiles on their faces! This is Luciana and Ederson. Luciana is a church member and we have prayed for her husband for years. A couple of months back I received a message from Ederson saying, "Pastor, I need to talk. I'd like to start a Bible study with you". That doesn't happen everyday to a missionary! But as you can imagine, I was super excited that God was answering our prayer. He explained to me that "something" had been "calling" him to the Bible and the Gospel. He told me that he had confessed Christ as his Savior and wanted to grow in knowledge of God's Word. As he travels with his job quite often, we are slowly but surely working through a discipleship study where he is learning and growing in his walk with the Lord and looking froward to baptism in the future. Thank you for praying for Ederson!

I was able to baptize these three believers recently. It's always a joy to baptize those who have accepted Christ's invitation to new life in Him.

Daniel Aug 19 8The building progress continues to go well! We could quite possibly be in the new building by the end of the year. That is our goal. It won't be "completely finished" by then but it will be useable. Please pray for us that we can be in the building by the end of the year so we can get out of our rental situation and invest the rent money in the construction.
This week we paid our final payment on the land! Praise the Lord! This will free us up some financially to accelerate the building process as well. We are so thankful to each of you for your gifts toward this project. We are getting close!

We want to say a big thank you to all you do to make this ministry possible. We are so grateful! Please pray for us as we travel next week. Pray for... Tuesday (8/6), travel to Salvador.
Wednesday (8/7), flights from Salvador to Recife to Orlando, arriving around 6 pm.
Thursday (8/8), flight to Atlanta and car ride to Chattanooga.

Pray for our ministry here to continue strong - for the members to remain faithful - for the building plans as they continue on while we're in the USA
