The Suddeth Family Ministy Update
In Acts 11:23, Barnabas encouraged the Christians in Antioch “to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose.” On January 3, as Iglesia Bautista de Costa Verde held the first service of the year using Zoom (we are not allowed to meet in person due to another quarantine), we talked about the fact that, although this year will have its challenges, our purpose does not change. We are to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose - no matter the circumstances; we can glorify God, encourage others, and share the gospel. Our purpose remains the same in quarantine and when we are allowed to gather together.
Yes, this year will have its challenges, but we are excited. We are excited to work hard, knowing that it is God’s grace working in us. We are excited to wait on the Lord and see what He will do. As the Puritan, Matthew Henry, wrote, “To wait on the Lord is to have your desire toward Him, your delight in Him, your dependence upon Him, and your devotedness to Him.”
Waiting on the Lord is a very active discipline. But we have this promise from Psalm 25:3, “None who wait for You shall be put to shame.”
