Update from Patrick & Teresa Pruett
Dear Co-laborers in Christ,
June has come and gone faster than we can believe. So much has happened this month that I am just going to jump right into it.
The last of our family left Peru in June, but not before helping us get Ezra to his embassy appointment. A few hours inside the US embassy and Teresa and I were raising our right hands, swearing that our child was born to natural born US Citizens; thus, making him a US citizen. He now has his birth certificate and passport. Praise God, it was a fairly simple process.
Our Bible study continued through the month of June with a few members requesting extra time for us to study even further into the Bible. It is a blessing to see the desire of these young people in really wanting to study the Bible. We hope to have several non-saved individuals join us soon as many have shown interest in learning about what is happening in the group.
As we reported in last months report, we have rented a house to start our next church. When we rented it, it needed some work to make it a place we could meet. Since then, we have filled it with chairs, podiums, tables, an almost complete nursery, a classroom for the young kids, and painted the front of the building. We still have much to do. On our list is purchasing Bibles, more chairs, a TV (or projector) to mount on the wall of the sanctuary, bars for the windows, more items for the nursery, print materials, and hanging banners/signs.
Once the church is ready, we plan on blitzing the area with one-thousand gospel tracts and invitations to our first service, which will be September 4th. Pray that the Lord keeps us on track to get everything done on time. Things here work much more slowly than in the States. It is frustrating at times, but God is in control, so we know the timing will be just right.
Prayer requests for this month are for things to move along quickly for the church plant. That we can see some movement with the school plant. (The land offered to us is still hanging by a thread at this point.) Safety for us as Lima is growing increasingly more dangerous as every day goes by, for our ministry as a whole, and that God uses us to change the lives. Pray that God continues to give us the opportunity to do so.
As always, thank you so much for your support and prayers. We could do none of this without you.
Please feel free to contact us via email with any questions. Thank you!
