Update on Peru
This month has been full of ups and downs with lots of news from Peru, and a lot of updates for us as we seek to return. In that, this month’s letter will focus mainly on us and our journey to return home. We are excited to share with you all that has transpired this month!
We start with an update on Peru. Some areas are less restricted, but Lima is under the strictest measures at this time. Our desire was to return to Lima by March, but after meeting with our pastor and director, they counseled us to wait longer to return. The major concerns are that if we return right now, we, obviously, will not be able to do any form of church planting or ministry work; and finding a place to live, furniture, and a car while the country is under these strict measures would be immensely difficult.
That leaves us here in the States, waiting. We know this is God’s timing and not ours, and that there are many missionaries in the same position as us; but it feels like we’ve been in this waiting period for a very long time. In that, our pastor counseled us to take a small break from supporting raising. Up until this point we have still been making calls and trying to do drop-ins at churches, but he wants us to stop and focus on us. We will still keep our current meetings and will not turn down invites, but this will be a time for us to prepare to return to Peru so we are ready once we are allowed in.
Even though we plan on this break, the Lord continues to bring in new supporters to partner with us. Most of these are coming from places we never would have thought of. We received word from a good friend that a pastor in Washington State was looking for a missionary to South America, and now we have a hopeful supporter from Washington State! We received another email much the same from Pennsylvania, and now we have supporters from Pennsylvania! It’s amazing to see God work. We had nothing to do with these new supporters contacting us. It was all from the Lord leading His people to speak for us. What an amazing God we serve!
Please continue to pray for us as we seek to return to Peru, and please feel free to contact us via email at Trulyisplenteous@gmail.com or through our Facebook page at “Pruetts in Peru” or our newest addition, Instagram at Pruetts_in_Peru. Most importantly, we are thankful for your support. We cannot do what God has asked us to do without you. Thank you!!
