We Will Not Fear
As I think of happenings around the world, I am reminded of the words of Psalms 46: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed . . .” Mauritius, like many other countries, is facing a lot of social and political tension. We are living through unforeseen circumstances. Amidst the social and political upheaval, God remains constant in character, wisdom and power. He is our anchor and we can trust him. Please pray for us that we will ever trust in his unfailing loving-kindness.
Recently, we had the youth of the church over at our house. While we were closing the meeting we wanted to know what were some activities that would be of interest to them this year. I was very pleasantly surprised by the first answer I heard: “we would like to study the scriptures more deeply.” That was an encouragement to us, and our prayer is that their desire for the scriptures will keep on growing.
Please keep praying for our church as we continue to look for a building or land. We would also appreciate your prayers for unity within our body as we try to make a decision concerning any given property.
Our children’s ministry is going well. We have a few unchurched kids who attend on a regular basis. Please pray that the scriptures, which they hear week in and week out, will bring forth repentance and faith within their hearts. Please pray also with us for opportunities to share the gospel with the parents.
We appreciate your prayers for the ministry in Mauritius. We also appreciate your prayers for our family. We would especially appreciate your prayers for the salvation of our children. Liam and Adrien are both at an age where they are showing an understanding of spiritual matters. Pray for wisdom for us as parents, as we aim to shepherd their hearts to love God and his glory above all things.
