International Food Festival
One of our favorite ministry events of the year in our local Hispanic church is our annual International Food Festival held every fall. This years' event was a great success.
We take advantage of the multi-national component of our Spanish church to highlight the various foods and dishes typical to each country and region.
It is a time in which our church members proudly display their culinary skills, traditional dress, as well as the richness of their cultures.
This year the Food Festival was attended by people from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. The food and the colors displayed on this day were tantalizing!
But the greatest thing about this day is that it affords us the opportunity to share the gospel with people from all these countries. This year I spoke from the Great Commission passages of Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8.
As our day came to an end, the thing that impacted me was not the diversity of the food and cultures that were represented, but the unity among the body of Christ. People from various countries and cultural backgrounds worshipped and fellowshipped together as a unified congregation.
Your partnership with us enables us to minister to a diverse people group. Thank you for your participation in this outreach.
